CHATTERBOX ZOOM WORKSHOPS
Our Chatterbox Zoom Workshops are friendly, informal and by far the most effective way to improve your fluency. We focus on C1/C2 Vocabulary/Lexical Chunks - collocations, phrasal verbs idioms and expressions. We have 3 workshops per week, usually lasting two hours each session. You have the opportunity to speak with me and work in pairs and groups with other international learners doing exercises and practising conversation. We also use exam material for Cambridge C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency.

I have been attending the online Chatterbox sessions since September 3, 2023, with a short break in between, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity. These sessions have been an incredible way to connect with other international students, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and expand my English skills meaningfully.
Not only do we cover a wide range of topics, but we also learn an extensive amount of vocabulary, collocations, and lexical chunks. Steve is an excellent teacher who is highly knowledgeable and places a strong emphasis on practicality. He ensures that we develop a natural-sounding accent and improve our pronunciation. His approach makes learning both engaging and highly effective.
One of the things I appreciate the most is the amazing group of learners in these sessions. They are incredibly supportive, always encouraging one another, and they never miss a chance to share a laugh. The atmosphere is fun, uplifting, and full of positive energy. No joke ever falls flat, and we all ensure that learning is productive and genuinely enjoyable. These are truly wonderful people, and I always look forward to seeing them.
English is a vibrant and complex language, and reaching an advanced level is a long journey. However, thanks to these sessions, I feel that I am progressing steadily, gaining confidence, and refining my ability to express myself naturally. I truly appreciate this experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their English fluency in an interactive and supportive environment.

Hello everybody. I am Italian, live in Rome, and I've been speaking English for almost all my life so far, even though it doesn't always show and I still need to work on it. I've been following Steve's Chatterbox for the last two years so that’s why I got the honorary title of founder.
Much of our activity focuses on Lexical Chunks . Words which go together well in the English language, I mean, they're commonly used, and in this kind of family, we could include collocations, phrasal verbs, idioms and the likes, but basically what we're doing with the lexical chunks is trying to get into our mindset that we should speak and put together words as a native does.
So, with Steve’s help, we practise using those expressions which English kids learn in their early age and the challenge for us is to bring them to our memory and try to use them as naturally as possible. And to do that, we have not only his guidance, but lots of material, which he usually prepares for us and it's a great plus. Kudos to Steve for his creativity and skill when putting together images, scripts, sound and all that jazz…..
During our sessions we may have videos or sometimes we start with specific scripts or dialogues that he creates for us and we go through them trying to actually feel like, we are in our little bubble of, England, of Great Britain, and we start, in a very relaxed way, chatting and bantering using that material , those dialogues that he creates.
It has become a regular appointment for me, one which I very much look forward to also because of my lovely fellow learners.

If you have C1 level and want to boost it to sound natural like a native speaker.
You can go beyond the limits of your books and realize that the sky’s the limit when it comes to learning English. I can recommend you Chatterbox workshops with a native speaker Steve, they are incredibly rewarding; you can never have enough. Each time you explore the language, its peculiarities, and shades. It’s not just about hitting the books and being dead tired afterward.
Last time, we talked about favourite films that can be chilling, macabre, enigmatic, or have evocative scenes, as well as page-turner and compelling books. Steve is a supportive and knowleadgeable native speaker who can help everyone regardless of one's level of English. His workshopes are student-friendly and speking-oriented. What I personally love about them is that you have the native speaker who can explain everything really clear, plus "breakrooms" where you have enough time to chat with people from around the world, and practise your English while doing grammatical, speaking or other types of exercises.
How can I not love that?

I’ve had the pleasure of being part of Chatterbox for about a year now, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience has been! What truly makes our sessions special is the genuine atmosphere of friendship and respect—everyone is here to help, support, and cheer each other on. It genuinely feels like being part of a community of caring friends.
Steve is a brilliant teacher, an Englishman through and through, who skillfully guides us through any challenges that come our way.
He’s always there with thoughtful answers to our questions, no matter how big or small, and endless encouragement. Every session is packed with new lexis, which Steve introduces with such clarity. We then get to put it all into practice, whether in the main room or in smaller breakout rooms.
